The Susan G. Komen Western New York Race for the Cure was awarded the People's Choice Award for the 2009 Buffalo Niagara Event Professionals Outstanding Event Awards.

People's Choice Award The Susan G. Komen Western New York Race for the Cure was awarded the People's Choice Award for the 2009 Buffalo Niagara Event Professionals Outstanding Event Awards. A total of 29 local events were nominated in various categories, with nearly 2,000 votes placed for the People's Choice Award.

"It was an honor to accept the award on behalf of all the volunteers who work tirelessly on the Komen WNY Race for the Cure," said Angel Beiter, Komen WNY board president. "We are proud of the lasting impression that the Race has made on our community."

The Buffalo Niagara Event Professionals (BNEP) Outstanding Event Awards began in 2007 to recognize the amazing work of event planners and organizers in Western New York.
