As a part of our 10 year celebration we would like to honor 10 individuals as RACE HONOREES. We are looking for Breast Cancer Survivors, Co-Survivors, Susan G. Komen for the Cure Volunteers, Susan G. Komen for the Cure Runners & Walkers, Advocates. The Race Honorees will represent the many faces of Breast Cancer in Western New York.

Do you know someone who has an inspiring story, someone who has made a great impact in the fight against breast cancer, someone who offered great support to a breast cancer survivor?

NEW 2010 Race Course

To mark the 10th anniversary of the Western New York Race for the Cure we will be unveiling a NEW Race Course for the 2010 Race. Keep an eye on the website for updates.

2009 People's Choice Award

The Susan G. Komen Western New York Race for the Cure was awarded the People's Choice Award for the 2009 Buffalo Niagara Event Professionals Outstanding Event Awards. A total of twenty-nine (29) local events were nominated for the 2009 Outstanding Event Awards with nearly 2,000 votes placed for the People's Choice Award.

Angel Beiter, Board President of the Western New York Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, was present to accept the award. "It was an honor to accept the award on behalf of all the volunteers that work tirelessly on this event. We are proud of the lasting impression that the Race has made on our community to be chosen by the people who live here. We know how special Race for the Cure is for everyone involved and this type of recognition means so much when it comes from those we live and work with."

The Buffalo Niagara Event Professionals (BNEP) Outstanding Event Awards began in 2007 to recognize the amazing work of event planners and organizers in Western New York. Other events recognized were Buffalo Spree- Best of WNY Party, Camp Good Days Gala and Irish Classical Theatre Company - The Wake.
